How I paint an image - whether to abstract or paint it in a more figurative way is dictated by the subject itself and how I want to portray it   Sometimes this is immediately obvious but it can take months or even years to reach a decision I am happy with.

I don’t have a specific painting style - this varies with my subject and the media I chose -

I work mainly in acrylic and mixed media and occasionally watercolour using it in a non traditional way.

Colour is supremely important to me and I often use texture.

I am not precious about media and use a variety of materials to achieve my aim.

My series of neglected, peeling doors was inspired by my travels in France.   My love of jazz has inspired a number of paintings as have the wonderful textures of English beaches 

I enjoy including people in my paintings and like them to suggest an underlying story which the viewer can imagine for his or herself.

I am currently attending an experimental projects course at Putney School of Art which has transformed my way of working and stimulated lots of new ideas.

Since joining this group I have concentrated on abstracting my work but I am happy to return to a more representational style should the subject dictate it.

I have taken part in exhibitions in Wandsworth, Putney, and South London with a group of experienced artists who exhibited together whenever and wherever possible..        

Joining the Wandsworth Artists Co-operative gave me the chance not only to exhibit my work in but to engage with the public which I very much enjoy

I have taken part in Wandsworth Artists Open House since 2011.

I have work in America, Russia & Majorca and have sold well in exhibitions in the London area.
